How Technology Can Shorten Your Commute
Technology has changed the way we live our lives. From the desktop computer to the mobile phone, technology has made our lives much more easier. Commuting as changed with the advancements in technology. Some jobs don’t even have a physical commute anymore, employees simply work from home or another location and telecommute to work. But for most people a commute is an inescapable part of work. How can technology shorten your commute? Let’s take a look.
One of the easiest ways that technology can now shorten a person’s commute is GPS. With the right GPS system a person can know how bad traffic is on a certain road, and if it is too bad, a way around that can easily be found with the GPS system. A GPS system can also tell a person if there is road construction on a road and the best way around it. If there is an accident on the road, the driver will be informed of it via GPS and know to take another route to work. Before GPS systems were readily available people had no choice but to listen to the radio and hope for accurate traffic updates. Now that GPS systems are available, they can be used instead of the radio to shorten a person’s commute.
