What programs does a computer user need? The must have are five programs that every computer user needs to make his or hers computer usage running at a basic pace. Security on your computer should be your primary concern. An anti-virus program along with maybe an internet security add on, would be recommended. Keeping your computer safe from viruses and unwanted users is an important step on keeping your PC running smoothly. Next would be an office program. Every computer user needs an office program to work from. The full explanation can be found at http://www.lockergnome.com/blade/2011/07/20/what-is-the-best-free-anti-virus-program-to-meet-consumer-needs/ Whether making a word document or presentation, having this is an essential part to the computer experience. Of course to compliment the office program would be a printer program along with a printer to have your work printed out. Another useful program the user could not be without is a PC repair program. Just in case that your computer might get a virus or is in need of a program repair or needs an optimization this is a must have. The user also needs something to relax while working on his or hers computer. A media player software would be perfect for this being able to play Cd’s, Cd-roms etc. With these five programs, the computer user can make sure they will have everything they need for their basic computer needs.

Keeping your child safe on the web is very important in this day and age. There are many child predators who like to scour the internet and bait children by pretending to be directors or model casting agents. Another scheme that they sometimes use is pretending to be your child’s age. It is not as common as it used to be because of the stiff sentences. However, it is still a good idea to take precautions for your child’s sake.

Setting up perimeters is a great place to start making your computer more child protection friendly. Every computer comes with parent controls and trusted web site settings. Make use of those. Change the settings so that your child can not possibly accidentally go on to a pornographic or otherwise adult site. Only allow for websites that you know you and your family can trust.

Also pay attention to where your child is going online and who he or she is consulting with. Your child may not like the fact that you check up on him or her but it is better if you “stalk” him or her than if a predator was to do it. You do not have to necessarily read every one of his or her messages, but use your best judgment in monitoring your child’s activities.

The U.K. is slowly making advancements in technology but not at the rate of the US. The question is, why are the Brits slow to embrace http://www.direct.tv and other new technologies that are bound to make their lives easier? We’ve got a few ideas…
No Public Funding: Unlike in the US, Britain doesn’t throw a whole lot of money at technology. Government here is more focused on tangible goods for the commonwealth which sometimes leaves technology behind.< br />Lack of Think Tanks: In the US there’s Silicon Valley – Britain doesn’t really have a counterpart. Since people who know and love technology are so spread out here it’s much more difficult for huge, long term advancements to be made.
Traditionalism Wins: The United Kingdom has a long history of tradition and modernization is very slowly making its way through the nation. Everything from books to parliament is steeped in centuries of history and the Brits are often reluctant to change in fear they’ll risk losing part of their collective identity.
These are just a few of the thoughts we have on why the US is blowing Britain out of the water when it comes to new technological advancements.

Technology has been developing rapidly in the last couple of years. The last couple of decades have seen tremendous leaps and bounds in innovations, gadgets, devices and computers. These have all contributed to making our lives easier, better and more fun.

There have been great advances in technology. The most significant development is the smartphone. A smartphone is basically a mobile phone that incorporates a digital computer. A good example is purchasing of products via a smartphone or replying to emails from contacts using the smartphone.

Lately, there are special application programs that have been developed specifically to assists smartphone users achieve more and do more. These applications are popularly referred to as apps and are available across the internet from various providers. An example of an application program is the app that enables its user to control the temperatures of the house by simply fidgeting with the smartphone.

Technology has changed the way we live our lives. From the desktop computer to the mobile phone, technology has made our lives much more easier. Commuting as changed with the advancements in technology. Some jobs don’t even have a physical commute anymore, employees simply work from home or another location and telecommute to work. But for most people a commute is an inescapable part of work. How can technology shorten your commute? Let’s take a look.

One of the easiest ways that technology can now shorten a person’s commute is GPS. With the right GPS system a person can know how bad traffic is on a certain road, and if it is too bad, a way around that can easily be found with the GPS system. A GPS system can also tell a person if there is road construction on a road and the best way around it. If there is an accident on the road, the driver will be informed of it via GPS and know to take another route to work. Before GPS systems were readily available people had no choice but to listen to the radio and hope for accurate traffic updates. Now that GPS systems are available, they can be used instead of the radio to shorten a person’s commute.
